Handmade wood candle holder. These are Shou Sugi Ban (Japenese Art of Charred Wood). These candleholders are all burned by hand in our shop and then finished with tung oil in order to bring out the natural colors of the wood.
With that said, every candleholder is a little different which is what makes them unique. If you like the burnt wood look these are perfect because not only do they look amazing. These work great for dinner table centerpieces, fireplace mantels, on a dresser. Really anywhere that you want a great-looking candleholder.
Each candleholder is made by hand out of pine. If you do not know about Shou Sugi Ban. Know that it is an ancient Japanese preservation technique for charring wood with fire for siding. The process involves charring the wood, cooling it, cleaning it, and finishing it with natural oil. This technique is a natural way to waterproof the wood, then adding the natural oils just adds to the wood's ability to resist water.
